DR Ouji Zine - Redesign!

A digital free, printable fanzine depicting Danganronpa characters in ouji (and potentially lolita) fashion, and will be formatted like a fashion magazine.

The zine will feature art, and potentially include digital merch, writing and cosplay. The zine may also feature Ultimate Collabs, in which different types of contributors can collaborate in whatever way they want! The zine will be SFW (safe for work) with an allowance for canon-typical blood and gore featured in the designs and zine pieces. The zine will also be non-spoiler free as references to death, executions, etc. may be included in the works.Contributor applications results will be open on October 13th!

    ☆.。.:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:* General Guidelines *:・゚✧*:・゚✧*+:。.。
♔ All contributors must be 16+ to comply with the age restrictions of the Danganronpa series, while mods and interns must be 18+.
♔ All works must be completely original. The use of AI, copying from others without credit or using your previous works, is not allowed in any part of this project unless stated otherwise.
♔ Do not share any content from this zine outside of the server without the permission of the head mod, as to not spoil the zine. This includes WIPs, previews, and snippets. If you wish to put your piece in a portfolio, please contact the head mod and wait for their approval.
♔ By joining the zine, you are agreeing to respect our rules, the mod team, and your fellow contributors. Any bullying or harassment is not allowed.
♔ Mods and contributors are also expected to submit check ins and other deadlines on time. If you can not make it to a deadline, please notify one of the mods ASAP, so that we can grant you an extension.
    。.。.:*・゚: *✧・゚:* Application Guidelines *:・゚✧*:・゚*+:。.。
✰ No prior zine experience is required, as this is a free, beginner friendly (in terms of zine experience) zine. However, we do want all contributors to communicate well with the rest of the team (eg. reach out if you have any problems)
✰ Please make sure all links you submit here are accessible, and if passwords are needed to open the links, please provide them!
✰ If we cannot open the links you submitted, we will not contact you for access and your application will not be considered.
✰ Samples should show an example of what you would like to create for the zine, and we will prioritize applications that are proficient in basic skills of the area they are applying for. More details will be available in each application form and the info doc !

    ☆.。.:*✧・゚:* Frequently Asked Questions *:・゚✧*+:。.。
    What is a fanzine?
A fanzine (zine for short) is a magazine created by fans to celebrate a character, ship or form of media. Zines can come in both physical and digital formats and typically feature a variety of both art and writing.
    What is ouji fashion?
Ouji fashion is a type of Lolita fashion that features more masculine or androgynous styles, with the term “Ouji” meaning “prince” in Japanese. It is also heavily inspired by Victorian clothing and Edwardian boys' clothing.
    Will the zine become physical?
We have noticed that a lot of people seems to want this zine to be physical but sadly, we won't be making the zine physical this time (a more detailed explanation can be found on Retrospring ). However, the mods have discussed and decided to make the zine printable, so that people who are interested can print their own copy! (Despite this, we won't be allowing any redistributing or reselling for legal reasons. All applying mods and contributors must consent to allowing their work being printed as well.)
Are contributors allowed to use existing ouji outfits?
Yes, we will be allowing contributors to create original designs or use an existing outfit, as long as they provide proper credit.
What characters are allowed in the zine?
Based on interest check results, we will only allow the characters from the three main games to have their own piece in the zine, but characters that appeared in the Danganronpa series (regardless if they appeared in games, anime or novels) can be featured in the background, excluding offensive characters (eg. Haiji Towa). The interest check results will reveal which characters may appear more in the zine due to higher interest.
Will ships be allowed in the zine?
Couple outfits and slightly intimate poses typically featured in fashion magazines are allowed, but any other types of romantic depiction are not allowed in any way, shape or form.
How many contributors will be accepted?
We are aiming for around 40 contributors (max. 50), as we want all characters from the main games to be featured, but also make sure that the team size is manageable. We will be accepting around 30 page artists, 7 merch artists, 2-3 cosplayers and 5-10 writers (These numbers may change depending on the amount of applications we receive, especially after we have selected our writing mod).
Can I apply for multiple roles?
Yes, but you will only be accepted for max. 1 role (unless you’re applying as mod intern!), so that we can include more people in the zine and make sure no one overworks themselves! (If you have a preference to what position you want to be accepted as, please mention it in the applications!)
Will the zine feature guest creators?
Yes! We will be having a maximum of 4 guest creators, the lineup will be revealed after mod apps results are sent.
Is this zine affiliated with the Dangandrogynous zine? Since they are both Danganronpa fanzines with ouji fashion as a theme.
Not exactly. 5 members of the current mod team (including this zine’s head mod) were mods/interns in that zine. However, this zine will only serve as a reboot of an idea that was never completed. We will be going in a different direction, and will only be using previous designs from ex-Dangandrogynous mods in this zine with their explicit permission.
I have a question that is not on this page!
If you have a question that is not featured here, please ask us on Retrospring and we will answer it as soon as possible!
